You often play poker online and fancy becoming a professional player and wonder just what is involved. Firstly do you have the bankroll required to become a professional poker pro? This is not as easy a question as you might think. If you are playing poker as your primary way of making money you had better have a big enough bankroll to both play and to pay bills for at least three months ahead of time. Do not make the mistake that you will have to become a more aggressive player, if so stay playing online poker for fun.

Another major question to ask yourself is whether or not you have been keeping track of your wins and losses. Guess work here is not allowed and you should keep an accurate record going back not for a week or two but for at least a year! Playing online poker as a pro does not mean that you have to beat the best players all the time, when you are a poker pro you will step down in competition so you can win money, ego and professionalism do not mix. Ask yourself these questions with honest answers before you take the step.

If you like a drink in the pub and which of us does not, you could be interested in a promotion by brewer Fosters to encourage more of into the pub. The top lager brand will be providing 10,000 venues across the UK with pool and poker tables and also will be backed by TV, radio and online advertising; the week is called “Game On.”

There can be few who do not know that the UK pub industry is being hit hard as people look to ways to combat the effects of the current downturn, the smoking ban and increased prices of drink. Landlords will be hosting free poker nights in the hope that the numbers of drinkers increase and help to stave off the amount of pubs that are closing daily. “Game On” is hoped to halt the decline in the number of people going out to the pub and hopes that they will and revisit the pub on a night they would normally stay at home.

If you are one of the many that is thinking about going on a poker tour, just which place would you go to, it is not easy to answer but there are some popular places to spend your money and have fun. One beautiful place, as well as one that can be very cheap to live in, is the Spanish city of Barcelona. With some wonderful architecture and fantastic weather, even in the winter, so you can enjoy both poker and the culture of the area.

Some former Soviet satellites and eastern European countries will offer very cheap accommodation and living costs for a stay whilst playing at the casinos, Estonia is one that comes to mind. Nearer to home Irish humour, the “black stuff” homely accommodation and food are at hand. Great casinos and poker clubs are situated close to the airport at Dublin, and Ireland is full of friendly hostels and bars with accommodation, what could be better. Of course the easiest way to enjoy your favourite pastime is to enrol at an online site, meet friends that way and organise your own tour!

You could not make it up but it is true, according to the BBC news channel a man had his home broken into and went to Oxfordshire police headquarters to report it and was asked if here was here to play poker! The gentleman, Mr. Hall, was asked by the security guard if he had come to play cards. A police statement said Mr. Hall’s visit coincided with a poker night at the HQ, which is not an operational station.

Although the incident is amusing, it just goes to show how popular the game of poker is, which is growing in popularity throughout the world, largely thanks to the explosion in online poker rooms. Online poker sites offer the gaming enthusiast the chance to take part in their pastime and to also win money if their skill is up to it. Online rooms offer entry to the famous WSOP finals held in Las Vegas each year and usually bonus money is offered to new players registering at their online gaming casinos. I wonder how many police officers are signed up for online poker!
