Voting for the Poker Hall of Fame is open until July 2nd and the online poker site Party Poker has begun lobbying for its ambassador, World Poker Tour Host Mike Sexton, to be among those considered. Nominations are open to the general public and if you are interested just submit the name of your chosen nominee plus up to 250 words describing why they should be the newest Poker Hall of Fame member.
The system works during the World Series of Poker Main Event, when Harrah’s officials will announce the names of the top 10 nominees, which will in turn be voted on by the 16 living Hall of Fame members. Certain select media members also receive voting rights and in order to be enshrined, a player must accrue 75% of the vote. Access the Poker Hall of Fame and vote now.
A challenge has been laid down by the online poker site Party Poker to host a heads up match between heiress Paris Hilton and the famous world poker tour host Mike Sexton; the winner will take home a juicy new luxury Bentley motor car.
The history is that in 2006 Party Poker, part of the Party Gaming group, offered Paris Hilton the chance to win back a Bentley motor car that the heiress was supposed to have lost in a game of poker! The luxury Bentley car in question was a Continental GT, but Hilton failed to take the online poker room up on its offer. Hilton quickly became the centerpiece of the poker world, albeit for a brief time period. The online poker world is waiting to see if the challenge is taken up this time.
Before you open an account at an online poker room there are some questions you should ask yourself. For example what limits, and what games are you looking for? Do you just want to play low level cash games, or tournaments, perhaps both? Are you interested in satellite tournaments, perhaps attending live tournaments?

In a non-tournament setting, you can sit out for a few minutes and not lose any money, but if you are away too long you will find that your funds have been removed from the table safely into your account. When you return to your computer screen you will find yourself back in the lobby area again.
However this is not the same in a tournament where if you sit out, your blinds will still be taken and your chips will gradually diminish.
