You could not make it up but it is true, according to the BBC news channel a man had his home broken into and went to Oxfordshire police headquarters to report it and was asked if here was here to play poker! The gentleman, Mr. Hall, was asked by the security guard if he had come to play cards. A police statement said Mr. Hall’s visit coincided with a poker night at the HQ, which is not an operational station.
Although the incident is amusing, it just goes to show how popular the game of poker is, which is growing in popularity throughout the world, largely thanks to the explosion in online poker rooms. Online poker sites offer the gaming enthusiast the chance to take part in their pastime and to also win money if their skill is up to it. Online rooms offer entry to the famous WSOP finals held in Las Vegas each year and usually bonus money is offered to new players registering at their online gaming casinos. I wonder how many police officers are signed up for online poker!
