Online poker site PartyPoker.com and Matchroom Sport are pleased to announce the dates and player line up for the World Open V, which is set to run from Sunday, October 11th to Thursday October 15th, 2009 in London. Included there will feature a field of 48, amongst whom will be some of the best poker players in the world, including Mike Sexton, living legend Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Chan. Also in attendance will be Party Poker newly sponsored players Remy Biechel from France, Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos from Brazil, the UK’s Ian Frazer and Germany’s Bodo Sbrzesny.
This is the first time since the tournament’s debut in 2004 the action will take place in the prestigious Palm Beach Casino in the heart of Mayfair. Some other changes implemented this year include larger starting stacks and the use of eight seat tables in the heats and seven players in the final.
