With the rise of the Internet has come the evolution of how bets are made and sports betting has continually advanced and evolved with the technology. While many individuals prefer to make a single, fixed-odds bet on events, teasers are becoming more common as sports betting gains popularity around the world. Basically, a teaser bet is a type of wager in which an individual combines his or her bets on two different games and then adjusts the point spread for the two games in return for a lower payoff in the event of a win. This is a combination of sports betting and spread betting and can really only be used for football betting or sports betting on games such as horse races. It is also common with basketball and generally takes the form of a multi-team bet, which allows the individual to choose a minimum of two teams up to a maximum of however many of the participants agree upon.
There are two main types of teaser bets currently in use. The first is known as a Super Teaser, while the second is the Vegas Teaser. In the first, the punter chooses from three to five teams and allows a larger spread of points to add or subtract between the selections in return for a smaller payout. The Vegas Teaser is a combination between a parlay and Super Teaser, with fewer points allowed on the spread, but the more teams that are selected for the actual wager, the higher the payout will be should the bet be successful.
