Online poker in the UK is in a very healthy state and is probably the best in the world at the moment. Certainly with the problems that have been suffered in the US, which thankfully have not crossed the “pond” some mouth watering tourneys are scheduled for 2012. The first of many begins with the UK and Ireland Poker Tour which kicks off in Galway on Wednesday 16th February. This will be PokerStars third visit to Galway, and the event will take place at the Radisson, February 16 – 20, 2012, and the Main Event of UKIPT Galway will feature a €700 + 70 buy-in. Naturally there will be the usual satellites and cash games which will run along with the main event.
The very popular Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is now in its sixth year and many serious poker players consider this to be one of the best tournaments held throughout the whole of Europe and is an event which always attracts the biggest names in the poker world. Keeping this event on top it will take in a total of thirteen stops which will include Dublin in Ireland and Blankenberge in Belgium. The year 2012 looks to be as exciting as ever for the UK and European poker scene.
