What happens in an online poker game when you want a natural break or the pangs of hunger overtake you and you are desperate for a sticky bun? It all depends whether you are in a tournament or non tournament online poker game.
In a non-tournament setting, you can sit out for a few minutes and not lose any money, but if you are away too long you will find that your funds have been removed from the table safely into your account. When you return to your computer screen you will find yourself back in the lobby area again.
However this is not the same in a tournament where if you sit out, your blinds will still be taken and your chips will gradually diminish. So in the case of a big blind and no one raise’s in the game, you cannot win the hand, even if it gets checked down. So remember sit it out and wait for a scheduled break in the game, forget the bathroom and just leave that sticky bun alone or the sandwich in the ‘fridge.
